Actress Jeon Won-ju (87) recently had a makeover day! Joining her was Jewelry’s Lee Ji-hyun, who has transformed into a professional hairdresser. Lee Ji-hyun shared the story behind her career change and her pride in her new profession.
On the 26th, a video titled “Original girl group Jewelry Lee Ji-hyun Director’s skills revealed!” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Jeon Won-ju_Jeon Won-ju-in-gong’.
Jeon Won-ju visited the salon with her daughter-in-law. Her daughter-in-law mentioned, “Mother has been in the hospital for a long time, so it’s time for her hair to be done. We’re going to get her a full set of treatments today.”
The salon they visited is the one where Jewelry’s Lee Ji-hyun serves as the director. Lee Ji-hyun greeted Jeon Won-ju warmly, saying, “I was very worried after seeing the news about your hip surgery. I’m so grateful you’ve recovered and are healthy.” She then added, “I’ve become the director here! I passed the national certification exam for hairdressing and completed the hair designer course. I’m the marketing director here.”
Lee Ji-hyun offered Jeon Won-ju a head spa scalp treatment. Jeon Won-ju showed interest, pointing to the crown of her head and saying, “I’m a bit thin here.”
Lee Ji-hyun first checked Jeon Won-ju’s scalp condition using a diagnosis machine and then performed a scalp scaling treatment. When Jeon Won-ju asked, “Do you do all of this yourself?” Lee Ji-hyun replied, “Yes, I do it all myself.”
The PD asked, “Back in your celebrity days, you only received services at the shop. How is life as a salon director?” Lee Ji-hyun happily replied, “I’m so grateful. It’s amazing when people like what I do for them. I can’t express the sense of achievement and pride in words.”
When asked why she chose hairdressing over other options, Lee Ji-hyun explained, “I was looking for a job I could do for a long time, and that’s where hairdressing came in. Also, salons have been like a second home to me for over 20 years since I’ve been visiting them every morning since I woke up. I felt more familiar with the environment. I chose this path because I thought it would be wonderful to see people happy with the services I provide.”
