Composer Jo Young-soo shared his own special way of practicing filial piety.
The May 23 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s ‘Immortal Songs’ featured a special episode for the ‘Seoul Spring Festival 2026’.
During the show, a touching story was shared: “My dad is nearing retirement, and he seems more thoughtful than usual. I’m so grateful to him for dedicating his youth to our family, and I want to cheer him on as he starts his second youth. How can I give him strength?”
Lee Chan-won commented, “It’s actually not easy to tell your family ‘I love you’ or ‘Thank you’ in daily life. It can feel a bit awkward. How do you all usually express your feelings?”
Jeon In-hyuk of Yada replied, “I’m not naturally expressive, so I usually just call my mother to check in on her and buy her something delicious to eat.”
Then, composer Jo Young-soo revealed, “I’m way too shy to say it in words. Whenever there’s an occasion, I just send a bank transfer,” earning him a round of applause and admiration from everyone.
Meanwhile, Jo Young-soo has previously made headlines for ranking first in Korean royalties. Known as the ‘Midas Touch’ of the music industry, he left everyone stunned by revealing that he has a whopping 730 registered copyrighted songs.
