In the episode of MBC’s variety show “Hangout with Yoo” aired on the afternoon of the 23rd, themed “Royal Order,” Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Heo Kyung Hwan, and Joo Woo Jae were summoned to the Joseon era to celebrate the 629th birthday of King Sejong the Great.
During the broadcast, Yoo Jae Suk and Heo Kyung Hwan visited Gyeongbokgung Palace after being asked by a Naver employee to collect map information for Hanyang. Their mission was none other than filming “Street View.”
Tasked with the simple but tedious job of taking photos every 10 meters around Geunjeongjeon Hall, Yoo Jae Suk endured the struggle, saying, “It’s so boring. My face is already burning. It’s tedious, hard, and lonely. We just used to look at Street View, but the people who actually do it really suffer. The equipment is quite heavy too.”
Heo Kyung Hwan felt the same way about the boring work. Upon spotting Yoo Jae Suk, he happily shouted, “Sunbaenim! I’ll be there soon!” like a true warrior.
At the same time, Haha and Joo Woo Jae visited the Meteorological Administration after receiving a royal order from King Sejong to solve the riddles of the sky. Forecaster Lee Won-gil confidently stated, “After learning just today, you’ll be able to tell if it’s going to rain just by looking at the sky.”
He then told Haha and Joo Woo Jae to attend a national meeting where weather would be analyzed by region and briefed. Wearing traditional “paerangi” hats, the two were bewildered, asking, “Like this?” but immediately began preparing for the briefing.
The main agenda of the national meeting was temperature and showers. When Haha asked which was easier, the forecaster replied with a bitter expression, “Nothing is easy when it comes to weather.” While Haha took charge of showers and Joo Woo Jae handled temperature, the forecaster gave them a crash course.
True to his engineering background, Joo Woo Jae followed the lesson well, while Haha’s blank expression provided plenty of laughs.
The national meeting began at 2 PM. After presentations from various regional offices, it was the Meteorological Administration’s turn. As their turn approached, Haha and Joo Woo Jae muttered that they were nervous. One-day forecaster Haha started, “I will tell you the details I analyzed. The terrain is…” before bursting into laughter.
It turned out he couldn’t stop laughing at his own reflection in the monitor while wearing the paerangi hat. In the solemn atmosphere, he continued, “I’m sorry. It’s because of how I look on the monitor.” Haha concluded his presentation by stating, “Showers are likely between 17:50 and 18:30. My data is certain.”
Joo Woo Jae finished his presentation smoothly, just as he had during practice. However, the two were caught off guard when an unexpected Q&A session followed. When the Daegu Regional Meteorological Administration asked about the difference in temperature compared to midsummer, Joo Woo Jae stepped up and successfully answered using what he had practiced, bringing the meeting to a close.
When Yoo Jae Suk asked if a song by “Hyo-Ri-Soo” (Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung) had been released, Yuri replied that it hadn’t. She mentioned they hit a snag, saying, “Why are the producers saying they won’t do it? They say they’re too busy.”
To this, Yoo Jae Suk mentioned, “We filmed a short-form drama, and the song isn’t bad. If there’s a chance to collab with Hyo-Ri-Soo, we’re thinking of polishing it,” as he played the OST “Starry Night.” Hearing the title, Yuri sang along, noting it felt similar to Hyo-Ri-Soo’s vibe, prompting Yoo Jae Suk to jokingly advise, “Yuri, I think you need to practice.”
However, when Yuri stepped back and said, “We’re also in the middle of choosing,” Yoo Jae Suk replied, “You said you didn’t have a producer. Well, we’re on cool terms. Thanks. I’ll call you,” hinting at a potential collaboration with Hyo-Ri-Soo.
Meanwhile, the short-form drama directed by Yoo Jae Suk, titled “I Decided to Take Back the Woman My Brother Stole,” has surpassed 1.3 million cumulative views. The drama’s OST has also gained explosive popularity.
