

Ju Hyun-young is expanding her horizons to the stage through the play ‘The Come-up Funds’!
Set to open this July, ‘The Come-up Funds’ marks Ju Hyun-young’s first-ever theatrical performance since her debut. The play is a black comedy set on a night in 2022 during a pre-party for a 20th high school reunion. It follows five former close friends who reunite to face their changed lives, losses, and wavering identities.
Ju Hyun-young will take on the role of Caitlin, a character who drives the immersion of the plot. Caitlin pretends to have a perfect family life to maintain appearances, while secretly struggling with a deep sense of emptiness. Ju Hyun-young plans to use her signature detailed acting to navigate the character’s complex emotions and deliver a chilling kind of humor to the audience.
Ju Hyun-young has been steadily expanding her acting range through various genres, starting with ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ and continuing with ‘The Heavenly Idol’, ‘The Marriage Contract’, the film ‘Ghost Train’, and ‘The Devil Has Moved In’. She has shown a versatile side, bringing both cheerful joy and tense energy to her roles while building a solid foundation of acting skill.
Furthermore, she played a key role as the mysterious Baek Hye-ji in ‘Good Woman Bu Se-mi’, which recorded the second-highest viewership ratings in ENA history, adding a layer of mystery to the series.
Now recognized as a “trustworthy” actress, Ju Hyun-young is also making waves as a producer for ‘The Come-up Funds’. Along with fellow actors Kim Min-sung and Yeon Sol-yi, she founded the collaborative creative group Project Gijigae, marking a professional start with this production.
With her keen eye for talent, Ju Hyun-young recognized the value of ‘The Come-up Funds’, written by Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins, a 2025 Pulitzer Prize winner and double winner of the 2024-2025 Tony Awards.
