Director Yeon Sang-ho’s new film ‘Gunche’ has been officially invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, and the official screening schedule has finally been revealed!

Director Yeon Sang-ho and the film’s lead stars, including Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, and Kim Shin-rok, will attend the official Midnight Screening and red carpet event at the Grand Théâtre Lumière on May 15 (Friday) at 12:30 AM local time (May 16, 0:30 AM).

With an incredible casting lineup and the involvement of ‘zombie master’ Director Yeon Sang-ho, ‘Gunche’ has already been generating massive hype. It is expected to capture the attention of the global press and film industry professionals at its world premiere. The movie tells the story of isolated survivors trapped in a building locked down due to a mysterious infection, fighting against infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable ways.

The actors, some of whom are walking the Cannes red carpet for the first time with ‘Gunche’, shared their excitement. Jun Ji-hyun said, “I’m truly happy and honored to be invited to the Cannes Film Festival where filmmakers from all over the world gather. I’m excited to present my first work with Director Yeon Sang-ho on such a meaningful stage. After its first reveal at the Cannes Film Festival, ‘Gunche’ will be released for domestic audiences on May 21.
