Set to hit theaters in May, ‘The Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendo’ tells a magical story about a candy shop that grants wishes to customers who possess lucky coins.
Six newly released character stills perfectly capture the diverse charms of Hong-ja. With her silver hair neatly tied up and wearing a stunning hanbok, Ra Mi-ran’s look boasts an incredible synchronization with the original character, as if she stepped right off the page. From her warm smile while handing out candies to her signature quirky and humorous expressions, she brings a friendly vibe to the role. On the other hand, she radiates a chilling charisma and mysterious aura when facing off against Yomi, the owner of the rival shop Hwa-ang-dang, creating an intense tension.

Ra Mi-ran shared, “Since Hong-ja from the original work is such a familiar character, I had many concerns, but I tried to flexibly portray a Korean-style Hong-ja by utilizing my warm image.” She added, “The moment I stepped onto the Zenitendo set, I felt as if I had entered a fairy tale.”
Meanwhile, ‘The Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendo’ is based on the novel of the same name by Reiko Hiroshima. The original novel is a piece of fantasy literature that is highly popular even among adults and has consistently ranked on bestseller lists in Korea, contributing to the fantasy craze. Due to its popularity, it was also produced as an animation and received great love after airing on major channels in Korea, including Tooniverse.
