JYP Entertainment (JYP) has once again declared a zero-tolerance policy and a strong response against illegal activities, including malicious posts and stalking, targeting its artists.

JYP explained that they are constantly collecting malicious content from major domestic and international online communities, social media (SNS), and messengers through fan reports, internal monitoring, and a specialized monitoring system. The platforms being monitored include Naver, Daum Cafe, DC Inside, Theqoo, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, and KakaoTalk Open Chat.
The company emphasized that they are continuing strong legal measures, such as criminal complaints and civil claims, “without any settlement or leniency” regarding these illegal acts.
In fact, JYP stated that they have proceeded with lawsuits against those who wrote, created, or distributed malicious content about their artists. Some of these individuals were found guilty of violating the Information and Communications Network Act or the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes and were sentenced to fines, along with orders to complete sexual violence treatment programs and restrictions on employment at institutions related to children and youth.
Legal actions are also continuing against overseas platforms and residents. JYP is tracking the identities of malicious content creators through court-ordered evidence requests and discovery applications in overseas courts, and is holding them accountable for damages regardless of whether they are based domestically or abroad.
Specifically, regarding discovery proceedings in a U.S. court, an objection raised by the opposing party based on “freedom of expression” was rejected, and an order to provide information was finally issued. JYP emphasized that this “shows that using overseas platforms as a workaround or justifying illegal acts based on freedom of expression is no longer legally tolerated.”
The company is also tackling stalking. JYP stated that stalking behavior that threatens the safety of artists and violates their privacy is also a target for strong response. They shared that they have obtained provisional measures for restraining orders against some perpetrators and are pursuing both criminal complaints and civil claims for damages.
JYP stated, “We are responding with a zero-tolerance principle without exception to illegal acts such as the writing, creation, and distribution of malicious content using anonymity, as well as stalking.” They added, “We will continue to take strict legal action in all cases against acts that infringe upon the rights and interests of our artists.”
