Netflix has confirmed the release date for the movie ‘Husbands’ (directed by Park Kyu-tae) for June 19, along with the reveal of a teaser poster and trailer! Fans are already buzzing about the unique pairing of Jin Sun-kyung and Gong Myung as an ex-husband and current husband. With a star-studded ensemble including Kang Han-na, Lee Da-hee, Kim Ji-seok, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Jeon So-min, this film promises a colorful array of characters.
‘Husbands’ is a comedy action movie that follows the journey of an ex-husband and a current husband who are forced to become a team to rescue a woman kidnapped by a notorious criminal organization.
In the teaser poster, ex-husband Chung-sik (played by Jin Sun-kyung) and current husband Min-seok (played by Gong Myung) are seen standing back-to-back, facing off against someone. The contrast between Chung-sik, a narcotics detective, and Min-seok, a veterinarian, adds to the intrigue. Everyone is wondering how these two will join forces to save their wife, and expectations are high for their bickering chemistry and action sequences.
The teaser trailer captures the story of Chung-sik and Min-seok, who end up collaborating to save the kidnapped wife, Si-nae (played by Kang Han-na). While the two were busy arguing over family seating at their daughter’s English speech contest, they receive news that Si-nae and their daughter have been kidnapped. This was all part of a plan by Hye-ran (played by Lee Da-hee), the brains of a new drug organization, to recover their boss, Do-jun (played by Kim Ji-seok), who was arrested by Chung-sik.
As they begin their unwanted joint operation, Chung-sik and Min-seok clash at every turn but gradually start to find their rhythm. The situation gets even more complicated with the involvement of Yong-gang (played by Yoon Kyung-ho), the boss of the Yong-gang gang trying to reclaim his former power, and Ara (played by Jeon So-min), a social affairs reporter.
The playful banter and comedic timing between the characters are definitely highlights. As the tagline “Chaotic combination, fantastic chemistry” suggests, the unique relationship between an ex-husband and a current husband promises a fresh kind of fun.
