HYBE and Geffen Records’ global girl group KATSEYE is showing off their massive popularity, dominating the US Billboard main charts with both their latest hits and previous releases.
According to the latest US Billboard chart (dated May 9), KATSEYE’s ‘PINKY UP’ landed at 71st on the ‘Hot 100’. Having previously peaked at 28th, marking the group’s highest debut on the chart, the song has now successfully stayed on the ‘Hot 100’ for three consecutive weeks.
On the Billboard ‘Global 200’, which ranks songs based on worldwide streaming and digital download data, ‘PINKY UP’ placed 62nd. Notably, ‘Gabriela’, a Latin pop track released last June, ranked 125th, proving its staying power by charting for 45 weeks.
Their second EP, ‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS’, which previously peaked at 4th on the ‘Billboard 200’, ranked 113th, marking 44 consecutive weeks on the chart. Additionally, their debut EP ‘SIS (Soft Is Strong)’, released in August 2024, made a surprising return to the ‘Billboard 200’ this week at 168th.
This success is believed to be heavily influenced by their performance during ‘Record Store Day’ last April. KATSEYE released a limited edition that reached 14th on the sales charts, proving they are recognized artists by both local record collectors and the general public. It is an unusual phenomenon where not only the limited edition but also their older releases are gaining popularity together.
Furthermore, on the latest UK ‘Official Singles Top 100’ chart, ‘PINKY UP’ ranked 42nd and ‘Touch’ ranked 82nd. On Spotify’s ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’, ‘PINKY UP’ and ‘Gabriela’ placed 61st and 111th respectively, confirming the steady love from music fans worldwide.
KATSEYE debuted in the US in 2024 under HYBE’s ‘multi-home, multi-genre’ strategy led by Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, based on ‘K-pop methodology’. In less than two years since their debut, they have been nominated for the ’68th Grammy Awards’ and the ‘2026 American Music Awards’. They are now preparing for the release of their third EP, ‘WILD’, this August.
