MMA fighter and entertainer Kim Dong-hyun shared the surprising behind-the-scenes story of his fourth child’s pregnancy.
On the May 25th episode of SBS’s ‘Ani Geunde Jinjja!’, Kim Dong-hyun appeared as a guest alongside actor Kim Eung-soo and singer Jo Kwon.
During the show, Kim Dong-hyun received a round of applause for the happy news that his wife, Song Ha-yul, is expecting their fourth child, with the baby due this October.
Regarding the news, Kim Dong-hyun revealed that it wasn’t planned, saying, “We originally wanted three. But things just happened.”
He recalled the day he found out about the pregnancy. “We had a fight that day. For a moment, I thought maybe four would be nice, but then I decided three was enough. Since it’s not an easy thing, I told her ‘I’m going to the hospital’ to stop myself from changing my mind again,” he confessed, revealing he had gone to get a vasectomy.
He then explained that in the early hours of the morning after the procedure, he discovered his wife’s pregnancy. He shared the shocking moment, saying, “She asked, ‘Are you going to be nice to me?’ and then showed me two lines on the pregnancy test.”
Hearing this, Lee Su-ji joked, “So the baby slipped in right before the door closed, and then you got the pregnancy announcement on the day you returned from the hospital!”
He also revealed the gender of the fourth baby. “It’s been about 20 weeks. The first is a son, the second and third are daughters,” he said, adding, “The fourth is a son,” receiving more congratulations.
When asked about the elders’ reactions, he shared, “Not only my mother-in-law but my own mother had something to say. They asked why I’m going through this hardship again. My mother scolded me a lot, and my mother-in-law just gave a hollow laugh,” which brought laughter to the set.
Meanwhile, Kim Dong-hyun and Song Ha-yul married in 2018.
