Actor Lee Seung-ryong shared his experience playing a character consumed by madness in the film ‘눈동자’.
The production briefing for the movie ‘눈동자’ (directed by Yeom Ji-ho) took place on the morning of May 26 at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul.
Lee Seung-ryong takes on the role of Hyun-min, a model whose persistent madness leads him to become obsessed with Seo-jin (played by Shin Min-a).
Explaining his character, Lee Seung-ryong said, “Hyun-min is a model who has been active since Seo-jin was working as a photographer. He is obsessed with an incredible amount of madness. I focused my acting on the process of why he became obsessed with Seo-jin and the perspective from which he views her.”
He added, “The director gave me a lot of freedom on set. Whenever I felt my energy was dipping, he encouraged me to show an even more maddened side. While there were moments where I felt mentally exhausted while playing the character, I was able to snap out of it quickly.”
Shin Min-a, who starred alongside him, teased the film, saying, “Between the threatening situations and my vision gradually fading, seeing that madness was truly scary. I think viewers will be quite surprised by Lee Seung-ryong’s sudden outbursts in the movie.”
The movie ‘눈동자’ is a suspense thriller about Seo-jin, who is losing her sight due to a genetic disease. While digging into the suspicions surrounding the death of her twin sister, she eventually faces the truth. It is set to be released on June 24.
