Kim Hyun-joong Opens Up About Losing Billions to Fraud:

SS501’s Kim Hyun-joong has revealed that he suffered fraud losses amounting to billions of won.

On the 14th, a video titled “Dae-hwan-jang Chwi-jung-jin-dam” was uploaded to Seo Yu-jeong’s YouTube channel, featuring SS501 members Kim Hyun-joong, Heo Young-saeng, and Kim Kyu-jong.

The three recently held a 20th-anniversary concert as part of their unit, FIVE O ONE. When the production team asked if Kim Kyu-jong was skilled at investing, he shared, “I’ve been running a studio apartment business since 2011, and I use that to give my parents an allowance.”

Seo Yu-jeong then asked Kim Hyun-joong if he also invests, to which he replied, “I spend everything I have on musical instruments. As for stocks, I only do enough to be able to join in on the conversation during drinks.”

Curious about the cost of guitars, Seo Yu-jeong asked how expensive they could get. Kim Hyun-joong surprised everyone by mentioning a price tag of 30 million won. He added, “Compared to when I first bought one, this is actually cheap, but I think guitar prices worldwide have risen more than the price of gold.”

Kim Hyun-joong then confessed to being a major victim of fraud. “I’m top-tier when it comes to being scammed. I’ve been hit hard. I lost several billion won,” he revealed. When a shocked Seo Yu-jeong asked if it was voice phishing or people, he confirmed it was the latter.

He further shared that it wasn’t just one person, but dozens. “I had friends since I was young, and seeing those close childhood friends change, there were suddenly sweet temptations that came my way,” he confessed.
