Kim Junsu Wins Baeksang Arts Award for His Role in 'Beetlejuice'!

Palm Tree Island announced on the 8th that Kim Junsu won the Musical Acting Award for the musical ‘Beetlejuice’ at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He has made history as the first-ever winner in the musical category at the Baeksang Arts Awards, one of the most prestigious ceremonies in Korea’s popular culture and arts.

Last year, Kim Junsu took on the black comedy genre for the first time since his debut through the musical ‘Beetlejuice’. He received rave reviews for his comic timing and delicate expressions, bringing his own unique charm to the role of the cheerful yet eerie demon, ‘Beetlejuice’.

Immediately after winning, Kim Junsu shared his excitement, saying, “I was already grateful just to attend the Baeksang Arts Awards, which I usually only saw on TV, so I am truly honored to receive such a meaningful award. I will take this as motivation to work even harder and repay everyone with great acting and singing.”

This win is seen as a testament to Kim Junsu’s solid career and his relentless drive to challenge himself. The achievement is even more special as he is the first recipient of the acting award in the newly created musical category.

Kim Junsu is currently performing in the musical ‘Death Note’ and recently announced his casting in the musical ‘Dracula’. Additionally, he will continue his activities as a singer with the release of his 5th full-length album, ‘GRAVITY’, on June 2nd.
