Kim Se-jeong Opens Up About Her Love for Beer and Why She's Cutting Back on 'Ani Geunde Jinjja'

I.O.I member and actress Kim Se-jeong caught fans’ attention by revealing that she used to drink two cans of beer every single day!

During the May 4 broadcast of the SBS variety show ‘Ani Geunde Jinjja,’ Kim Se-jeong was named the member who loves alcohol the most among the I.O.I members.

After being called “someone whose eyes light up at the sight of alcohol” by her fellow members, she admitted, “I love alcohol so much. I’m not the type to just binge drink, but I feel like I’ve lived my day to the fullest only after having a drink at the end of the day.”

When the MCs asked if she really drinks every day, Kim Se-jeong joked, “I usually start with about two cans of beer, but once I hit two, one drink just leads to another,” sparking laughter.

She further explained her habit, saying, “It starts with two cans of beer, then I feel like something is missing and think, ‘Should I try a little whisky?’ and pour a bit. Then I tell myself ‘just a little more,’ and suddenly I’m pouring full glasses.”

However, she’s recently been trying to cut back. Kim Se-jeong shared, “Recently, the desire to reward myself was too strong. No matter how tired I was after practice, I had a drink every day. But since I’m practicing every day now, my brain stops working if I drink. I realized it wouldn’t do, so I decided to quit for the sake of my practice.”

MC Lee Sang-min added, “Se-jeong loves drinking so much that she’ll hold in the urge to go to the bathroom until the very end just so the gathering doesn’t finish.” To this, Kim Se-jeong explained, “I love having honest conversations with the girls once we start drinking. Those moments are rare and so precious. Since it gets late, I’m terrified that if I say ‘I’m going to the bathroom,’ someone will say ‘Should we wrap things up?'”
