‘Korean History Star Instructor’ Choi Tae-sung shared the reason why he dove into the world of online lectures.
The May 13th episode of MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ featured a special titled ‘Teacher’s Day Passionate Priests,’ with guests Seo Kyung-seok, Choi Tae-sung, Kim Sung-eun, and Hwang Min-ho.

Recalling his days as a teacher, Choi Tae-sung said, “I started as a teacher at a high school in Pyeongchon in 1997. My dream was to be a great teacher, and I spent 21 years in the teaching profession.”
He continued, “Then, the Kim Young-ran Act (the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act) was implemented in 2016. It included restrictions on the external activities of public officials. At the time, I was lecturing for EBS, and my principal told me, ‘I would like you to stop the EBS lectures.'”
Choi Tae-sung explained, “I thought about it a lot. Because I wanted to meet as many people as possible, I left the school and jumped into online lectures.” Upon hearing this, Kim Gura remarked, “The Kim Young-ran Act changed your fate,” which Choi Tae-sung agreed with.
He also caught attention by stating, “You can take my lectures without paying a single penny. I was the first to start providing free Korean history lectures.”
