Actress Ku Hye-sun is participating in a very special live project alongside university students.
Ku Hye-sun is joining the “University Battle On-Air” project, a practical industry-academic education program run by Lotte Home Shopping through its live commerce channel, “L.live”. As part of a government-led employment support program, six universities are participating to gain hands-on experience in live commerce. Ku Hye-sun decided to collaborate after receiving a proposal from a team at Dankook University.
Sharing her reasons for joining, Ku Hye-sun sent a warm message: “I wanted more opportunities to be available for university students full of dreams and passion. I hope to see more of these fun and meaningful activities in the future.” Beyond just appearing on screen, she expressed a desire to empathize with and support the students’ challenges and potential, adding a heartwarming touch to this special collaboration.
This live session will feature “Kuroll,” a brand where Ku Hye-sun personally contributed ideas and design. Developed in collaboration with KAIST researchers, “Kuroll” was designed to solve the bulkiness and portability issues of traditional hair rollers. It gained huge attention for its foldable structure and eco-friendly elements, even selling out in just one day after its launch in March.
What makes this project even more meaningful is that it’s a participatory program where students directly select the brand, plan the content, and experience actual sales. In support of this public-interest goal, Ku Hye-sun plans to offer “Kuroll” at a special discounted price.
Ku Hye-sun previously drew attention after being selected as a special award winner in the creative talent category by KAIST. Expanding her horizons beyond being an actress, director, and writer, she is set to spend special time as a mentor communicating closely with students. Fans are eager to see what kind of synergy and new stories will emerge as she leads the way with the students’ passion and ideas.
