'Fifty Percent', Aiming for 50% Viewership? Shin Ha-kyun Hopes Results Reflect Their Hard Work!

On the 21st, a production presentation for MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Fifty Percent’ (Written by Jang Won-seop, Directed by Han Dong-hwa) was held at the MBC building in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se, Heo Sung-tae, Kim Shin-rok, Lee Hak-joo, and Director Han Dong-hwa.

‘Fifty Percent’ is a salty action comedy about three men who may look ordinary now but once had some real influence, brought back into action by fate. Though beaten down by the world and feeling a bit rusty, their loyalty and instincts remain intact as true pros who have run through 50% of their lives. The story will humorously yet sadly follow these three men, who were once at the top of their fields, after they are demoted to the remote island of Yeongseondo following ‘that day’s incident’ and spend their time searching for the truth of that day, which has been pending for 10 years.

With strong competitors airing in the same time slot, all eyes are on how ‘Fifty Percent’ will perform. When MC Park Kyung-rim asked, “Are you expecting 50% viewership?” Shin Ha-kyun emphasized, “I’d be grateful if many people watch it. We all filmed it hoping for that. I hope the results reflect the effort we put into making this story enjoyable.”

Director Han added, “Since we filmed this with other great actors besides these gentlemen, I just hope we get double-digit viewership.”

As for the viewership pledge, they promised to do a challenge. While Oh Jung-se and Shin Ha-kyun readily agreed, Shin Ha-kyun caused laughter by admitting, “I don’t even know what that is.”
