Lee Chae-min and Bang Hyo-rin Win Best New Actor and Actress at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards!

Actors Lee Chae-min and Bang Hyo-rin have been named the winners of the Best New Actor and Actress awards at the Baeksang Arts Awards.

At the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on the 8th, Lee Chae-min took home the Best New Actor award in the TV category for the tvN drama ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’, while Bang Hyo-rin won the Best New Actress award in the TV category for the Netflix production ‘Aema’.

Taking the stage first, Lee Chae-min expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank Director Jang Tae-yoo for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. He is my benefactor and like a father to me.” He added with emotion, “I also want to thank my senior, Yoona, whom I respect and love so much. I feel like I’ve done nothing to deserve this.”

He further added, “Since today is Parents’ Day, I am even more grateful to receive this award.” ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’ received immense love, recording a peak viewership rating of 17.1% (according to Nielsen Korea nationwide paid households).

Next, Bang Hyo-rin, who won the Best New Actress award, shared, “‘Aema’ was like a gift to me. As a rookie actress, I was able to play the role of a rookie actress, which allowed me to put my whole heart into the performance.”

She also expressed her thanks, saying, “I am grateful to Director Lee Hae-young for believing in me, supporting me until the end, and choosing me when I felt like I was nothing.” She added, “I learned what it means to be a great actor through my senior Lee Hanee, and thanks to senior Jin Sun-kyu, I was able to enjoy acting even more.”
