Lee Eui-jung has previously shared her long and difficult battle with health issues. In 2006, she revealed she was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor and given only three months to live. Following that, she suffered from complications including hip necrosis, the removal of her gallbladder, and hyperlipidemia. In a broadcast last year, she shared that she continues to manage her health with medication. After about 15 years of treatment, she is known to have received a full recovery diagnosis.
Starting her career in 1989 through MBC’s ‘Ppappoppo’, Lee Eui-jung rose to fame in the 1990s appearing in hits like ‘Three Families Under One Roof’, ‘Three Guys and Three Girls’, and ‘Three Friends’. She was especially loved by the public for the bright image she portrayed in youth sitcoms.

Currently, she is dating Jang Su-ho, a former judo athlete who is nine years her junior. During a joint appearance on MBN’s ‘Special World’ in June last year, she mentioned, “My parents really welcome my boyfriend. They say they hope we get married soon.” However, she also shared a heartbreaking detail, stating with a somber expression, “I cannot have children. I had hip surgery, and I don’t think it’s right to pass my illness on to a child genetically.”
