Comedian Lee Jin-ho’s health is thankfully improving after he collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage, and he is now able to have conversations with those around him. While he is currently focusing on rehabilitation, it looks like it will take some time before he can be discharged.
According to OSEN’s report on the 14th, Lee Jin-ho was rushed to the intensive care unit in critical condition last month. Fortunately, he recovered quickly through treatment without needing major surgery and has since moved to a general ward to focus on his rehab. He is reportedly now able to recognize people and even hold conversations.
Sources say that cerebral hemorrhages can often lead to poor outcomes, so his improvement is a huge relief to his acquaintances. However, since treatment and rehabilitation are still ongoing, he will remain hospitalized for the time being. While only family members were allowed to visit during his time in the ICU, his condition has stabilized enough that close comedian colleagues, including Lee Yong-jin who was the first to visit, have been stopping by to see him.
Given the nature of his hospitalization for a cerebral hemorrhage, it is expected that a significant amount of time will be needed before he completes his treatment and is discharged.
Lee Jin-ho was hospitalized on April 1st after a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, and Super Junior’s Kangin played a crucial role in his rescue. Kangin happened to call him that day, and Lee Jin-ho, who was losing consciousness, managed to answer and explain his condition. Kangin quickly called 119, allowing paramedics to arrive within the golden hour and transport him to the hospital.
Having debuted in 2005 as an SBS special recruit, Lee Jin-ho gained immense love for roles like “Ung-i’s Father” on ‘Utchatsa’. He later became a fixed member of ‘Knowing Bros’, but halted all entertainment activities in 2024 after admitting to illegal gambling. Last September, he was sent to the prosecution after being caught for DUI, and he has faced continuous controversy after it was revealed he had unpaid health insurance premiums totaling approximately 28 million won since April 2023 due to financial difficulties.
