Lee Re shared her deep trust and affection for Ra Mi-ran during the press screening and conference for the movie ‘The Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendo’ held on the 13th at Megabox Coex in Gangnam, Seoul.
Playing the role of Yomi, the owner of Hwaang-dang who threatens ‘Zenitendo’, Lee Re revealed her reason for joining the project: “I felt a very mysterious vibe when I first read the script. I’ve always loved the fantasy genre, and this story, which blends reality with fantasy, really moved me.”
She further explained, “Yomi was a cuter and more lovable character than I expected. I wanted to portray a mix of a mischievous vibe along with a chilly and unstable atmosphere.”
When asked about her high synchronization with the character, she expressed satisfaction, saying, “The moment I put on the costume, hair, and makeup, I naturally became Yomi.” She added with a smile, “I absolutely loved the blunt bob style and the princess-like outfits, which were a first for me. I had so much fun throughout the filming.”
Lee Re also shared her special bond with Ra Mi-ran. “There is a comfort that’s hard to describe when acting with her,” she said. “Since we’ve been together since the beginning of my debut, I’ve continued to see her as I grew. Because of that, I felt truly comfortable mentally.”
She added, “I had faith that no matter how I acted, she would embrace it all. This shoot was really enjoyable, and the atmosphere on set was wonderful.”
Meanwhile, ‘The Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendo’ is a fantasy drama that follows the stories of customers with lucky coins who visit the mysterious candy shop ‘Zenitendo’.
The movie is set to be released on the 29th.
