
Director Yoon Ga-eun’s film ‘Master of the World’ scored a triple win at this year’s Director’s Cut Awards!
The Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) announced on the 20th that ‘Master of the World’ took home the Best Screenplay award, the Vision Award for independent films, and Best Actress (Seo Su-bin).
The massive hit ‘The Man Living with the King’, which attracted over 16 million viewers this year, also celebrated two wins with Yoo Hae-jin winning Best Actor and Park Ji-hoon winning the New Best Actor award, which recognizes a fresh new face in acting.
‘I Can’t Help It’ also secured two trophies, with Park Chan-wook winning Best Director and Yeom Hye-ran winning New Best Actress.
The Best New Director award went to Director Jang Seong-ho for the animation ‘King of Kings’.
In the series category, ‘Pine: The Country Bumpkins’ dominated with three wins: Best Director (Kang Yoon-sung), Best Actress (Im Soo-jung), and New Best Actor (Jung Yun-ho).
Hyun Bin from ‘Made in Korea’ was named Best Actor, while Bang Hyo-rin from ‘Aema’ won New Best Actress in the series category.
The Director’s Cut Awards are hosted by the Directors Guild of Korea, with nominees and winners selected by votes from Korean film directors. The ceremony took place yesterday.
