MBC has officially kicked off preparations for the 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections taking place on June 3. The network has entered full election mode, announcing its official slogan and the schedule for its website launch.

Slogan ‘Democracy by Our Side’ … Dynamic Visuals Inspired by the Taegeuk
MBC has confirmed the slogan for this local election broadcast as ‘Democracy by Our Side.’ The goal is to reflect the significance of local elections and emphasize the value of democracy in everyday life. The design uses dark and light blue tones to convey stability, with geometric elements that modernize the Taegeuk symbol. This represents MBC’s commitment to maintaining fairness while dynamically capturing the changing public sentiment.
‘Choice 2026’ Official Website Launches May 6 … Tracking Public Sentiment via ‘Opinion M’
The ‘Choice 2026’ official website, which provides comprehensive local election information, will have its first opening on May 6 at 2 PM. Visitors can track the direction of public sentiment through ‘Opinion M,’ where MBC interprets various poll results using its own unique analysis method. Additionally, news regarding local elections nationwide will be systematically organized to help voters make informed decisions. During early voting on the 29th and 30th, regional turnout will be available, and on election day, real-time data including nationwide and hourly turnout, exit poll results, and vote counting status will be provided.
Aiming to Maintain the ‘Number 1 Across All Time Slots’ Presidential Election Viewership
MBC proved its competitiveness during last year’s 21st Presidential Election broadcast, ‘Choice 2025,’ by ranking first in viewership across all time slots. For households in the capital region, the average viewership was 11.7%, significantly ahead of KBS1 (3.6%) and SBS (3.1%). Notably, viewership peaked at 20.6% during the announcement of the exit polls. MBC plans to continue this momentum for ‘Choice 2026’ based on its content and technical capabilities.
Heo Ji-eun, Head of MBC’s Election Broadcast Planning Team, stated, “The high viewership of the last presidential election broadcast was an opportunity to confirm the viewers’ trust in MBC as a public broadcaster. We will meet those expectations for this local election with cutting-edge technology, precise analysis, and MBC’s signature sensory direction.”
