MBLAQ’s Mir Sparks Controversy Over Calling Mother-in-Law “Jangmo,” Deletes Video

MBLAQ's Mir Sparks Controversy Over Calling Mother-in-Law

Mir has deleted a video after facing backlash for the way he addressed his mother-in-law.

On May 24, a Shorts video titled “Mother-in-law with a celebrity son-in-law” was uploaded to “Banggane,” a channel run by MBLAQ’s Mir, his sister Go Eun-ah, and their family.

In the clip, while heading out with his wife and mother-in-law, Mir told the camera, “Our mother-in-law. She got me herbal medicine because I said I was tired.”

When his wife looked at the price of the medicine and mentioned, “My mom doesn’t have money,” Mir responded, “Our mother-in-law makes a lot of money,” using the term “mother-in-law” once again.

Subscribers criticized Mir for calling her “mother-in-law” (jangmo) so casually, questioning, “Do you really call her that even if you’re close?” Following the criticism, the Shorts video has been deleted from the Banggane channel.

Despite the deletion, netizens are still curious, leaving comments on unrelated videos asking, “Where did the mother-in-law video go?”

Meanwhile, Mir married a non-celebrity woman one year his senior last December. It was previously revealed through the “Banggane” channel that his wife is a Pilates instructor.
