MC Mong's Shocking Revelations Met With Backlash From Former Employees Over Unpaid Salaries

Following MC Mong’s explosive broadcast, former employees of One Hundred are speaking out, expanding the controversy.

On May 18, MC Mong held a broadcast on his TikTok account, claiming that Cha Jun-young, the uncle of Chairman Cha Ga-won, operated an illegal gambling ring called ‘Baduki’.

He distanced himself from the gambling, stating that Chairman Cha Ga-won had supported album production using his own personal funds.

He also claimed, “When The Boyz’ former agency offered 500 million won per person as a signing bonus, we paid a total of 16.5 billion won.” He added that 10 billion won was spent on Baekhyun’s first album, 5 billion won on the second, and 30 billion won was invested in the rookie group Bad Villain.

He raised his voice, saying, “The company survives if each person spends 100,000 won, but we are spending 10 million won. Does it make sense to gamble with that money?” During this, he also made critical remarks about employees who had left the company.

However, the controversy took a new turn after netizens, presumed to be former employees of One Hundred, posted rebuttals.

A person identified as former employee A claimed, “It would have been simple if salaries were paid on time. I still haven’t received my pay.” They added, “National pension, health insurance, and severance pay are all in arrears,” and criticized MC Mong, saying it is unfair to attack employees who had to work part-time jobs to survive because they weren’t paid.

Another former employee, B, also revealed, “Not only were salaries, severance pay, and annual leave allowances unpaid, but the four major insurances and national pension were also in arrears.” They added that staff members suffered as payments to business partners were delayed for a long time.

B further pointed out, “Although the representative changed several times, it is clear who managed the funds. Regardless of the gambling, the priority should be resolving the money owed to employees, artists, and business partners.”

With MC Mong’s provocative revelations and internal management issues coming to light, attention is now focused on the battle for truth and further official statements.
