Actress Moon Chae-won is gearing up for her wedding this June and has officially spoken out against rumors to mark her new beginning.
On the 8th, Moon Chae-won launched her YouTube channel, ‘문채원 Moon chaewon,’ and released her first video titled ‘Moon Chae-won YouTube OPEN: Rumors, Recent News, and Marriage Stories.’
Looking a bit nervous about the launch, Moon Chae-won greeted her fans and tackled everything from the absurd ‘she doesn’t wash her hair’ rumor to the behind-the-scenes of her legendary ‘Running Man’ aegyo, a new slang test, and the truth about her fiancé. She shared that marriage isn’t the end of romance but a brand new start, expressing her desire to communicate more closely with fans through her channel.

Regarding the timing of her channel, Moon Chae-won explained, “I originally planned to start a YouTube channel when a big life event like marriage happened. However, I changed my mind because I wanted to experience it and connect with fans sooner.” She admitted her nerves, saying, “I couldn’t even sleep last night; I kept waking up at 2:30 AM and 4:30 AM, so I’m really shaking.”

Moon Chae-won also took time to personally address rumors brought up by the production team. First, regarding the rumor that ‘an actress doesn’t wash her hair on set,’ she replied, “I get hair and makeup done to go to the set, so there’s no way I could go without washing my hair. I think it started when reporters on a talk show mentioned a pure-image actress who does that, and since I was very active at the time, people must have thought it was me.”
After showing her scalp under a microscope to prove her point, she also addressed the bad breath rumors using a breathalyzer. When the result came back as ‘0,’ she emotionally reacted, “I actually didn’t expect this, and I’m almost in tears. I’m so glad it came out as 0 consecutively.”
Talking about her legendary ‘Hey, give it to me’ aegyo from ‘Running Man,’ she said, “How could I have planned that? Even now, I’m grateful that so many people love that part, but I still can’t figure out exactly what the appeal is.” She then gave a 10-year-later version, saying “Hey, please subscribe,” which brought smiles to everyone.

With her June wedding approaching, she also corrected some marriage-related rumors. Regarding a claim on an open encyclopedia about her spouse, she clarified, “In an interview 10 years ago, I was asked if I preferred older or younger men, and I said younger. That got twisted, and a rumor spread that I married a younger dermatologist. That is not true.” She also shut down allegations that her marriage announcement letter was written by AI, stating, “Why make up stories that aren’t true? That is completely false.”

Moon Chae-won concluded by saying, “Thank you for congratulating me on my marriage. I believe marriage is not the end of dating but the beginning. I want to spend a simple and fun time together.”
