Nam Gyu-ri Opens Up About Family Struggles: “Father Was Ill for 20 Years… I Grew Up in Poverty”

Nam Gyu-ri has opened up about her personal family history.

SeeYa’s Nam Gyu-ri appeared on the tvN STORY show ‘Namgyeoseo Mwohage’ aired on the 25th.

During the show, Nam Gyu-ri began by sharing, “My father has been sick for a long time.” She added, “He has been ill for about 20 years. When someone in the family is sick for that long, it’s very difficult for everyone.”

With tears in her eyes, she continued, “Beyond just wanting to be a dutiful daughter, I spend every year hoping I can make them more comfortable than they are now.”

She further moved the audience by saying, “My father often has to go to the emergency room suddenly. Despite that, I am so grateful that he has lived this long.”

Nam Gyu-ri also revealed, “I grew up in very difficult circumstances as a recipient of livelihood protection. Because of that, if I ever become someone who is able to, I really want to do something to help children who are growing up in hardship like I did. If I live my life well day by day and reach a position where I can do good things, I definitely want to share the love I’ve received.”
