The Netflix series ‘참교육’ is officially set to premiere on the 5th of next month!

The teaser poster released on the 7th features the members of the Education Rights Protection Bureau, who have teamed up to fix a school in total chaos: Na Hwa-jin (Kim Mu-yeol), Choi Kang-seok (Lee Sung-min), Im Han-rim (Jin Ki-joo), and Bong Geun-dae (Pyo Ji-hoon). Standing in front of a school with a torn anti-school violence banner, their relaxed smiles contrast with the collapsed state of teacher authority, showcasing the confidence and ambition of the Education Rights Protection Bureau. The caption “We will protect you” adds to the curiosity about how they will resolve the situation while standing by the victims in a chaotic educational environment.
The accompanying teaser trailer grabs attention as Na Hwa-jin reveals his identity as a supervisor of the Education Rights Protection Bureau to students. It quickly unfolds the raw reality of the educational scene, where class disruptions and school violence have spiraled into gambling, drugs, and even the formation of violent gangs, vividly showing a world where the essence of education—teaching and learning together—has collapsed. Amidst this, Na Hwa-jin’s confident words, “Don’t worry. We will protect you,” and the sight of Im Han-rim and Bong Geun-dae heading boldly into the school signal the start of ‘참교육’ to restore the broken system, promising a thrilling sense of catharsis. Furthermore, Na Hwa-jin’s ability to instantly overpower opponents with relentless action, including one-on-many fights and car chases, along with the activities of Team Education Rights Protection Bureau, raises expectations for the wild action-packed drama ‘참교육’ will deliver. Additionally, Education Minister Choi Kang-seok’s heavy words, “I am not on the side of the teacher or the student, but on the side of the victim,” add depth, sparking curiosity about the Education Rights Protection Bureau’s refreshing and unconventional approach to breaking through school problems.
The original webtoon ‘참교육’ previously faced controversies regarding student corporal punishment, sexism, and racism. It was criticized for depicting a scene where a teacher is slapped as a satisfying moment and had its service suspended on North American platforms due to racism issues. Regarding the dramatization of a work with various controversies, Senior Director Bae Jong-byeong stated, “This is a work created with a sense of responsibility as it deals with a story that is absolutely necessary in this era,” adding, “We are well aware of the criticisms and concerns regarding some episodes and are preparing accordingly.”
‘참교육’ will be released on Netflix on the 5th of next month.
