Entertainer Noh Hong-chul opened up about the background of how he ended up attending Hongik University’s Sejong (formerly Jochiwon) campus.
On the 15th, a video titled “Noh Hong-chul is shocked by the realistic monthly rent of today’s youth” was released on his YouTube channel, ‘Noh Hong-chul’.
In the video, Noh Hong-chul headed out to a housewarming party for a staff member living in a studio apartment in Mapo-gu. When asked if he had experience living alone, Noh started by saying, “I started living alone earlier than anyone else.”
He explained, “My father worked at Samsung Electronics, and when I was in my third year of high school, the whole family had to move because he was assigned to the Jeolla region.”
He recalled, “My mother was worried that I wouldn’t be able to focus on my studies as a high school senior, but I also wanted to live by myself. So, I told her I would study alone in a house near the back gate of Children’s Grand Park to get into university.”

However, living on his own brought unexpected results for his college entrance exams.
Noh joked, “That choice was fatal. (Since my grades dropped) the schools I could get into kept getting further and further away from Seoul,” bringing laughter to the scene.
Meanwhile, Noh Hong-chul graduated from the Department of Mechanical and Information Engineering at Hongik University’s Sejong Campus. He previously made headlines by revealing that it took him a total of 10 years to graduate.
