“Oh My Gosh! Jung-bae is Getting Married!” Former ‘Soonpoong Clinic’ Child Star Lee Tae-ri Ties the Knot Today

“Oh my gosh! Jung-bae is getting married!”

Remember the cute little ‘Jung-bae’ from the 1998 hit SBS sitcom ‘Soonpoong Clinic’ who used to slap his forehead and shout “Oh my gosh!”? Actor Lee Tae-ri is officially joining the ranks of married men!

Lee Tae-ri is tying the knot with his non-celebrity partner today, May 24, at a location in Seoul. According to his agency, Y1 Entertainment, the couple decided to marry based on deep trust and affection. To respect the bride’s privacy, the wedding will be a private ceremony attended only by family and close acquaintances.

Born in 1993, Lee Tae-ri debuted in ‘Soonpoong Clinic’ and showed impressive acting skills even as a child. Since then, he has built a successful career as an adult actor, appearing in major works such as ‘Moon Embracing the Sun’, ‘The Beauty Inside’, ‘Extraordinary You’, and ‘Taejong Yi Bang-won’. Recently, he has been showcasing his versatility by appearing on the tvN STORY variety show ‘Handsome Trot’.

With the news of Lee Tae-ri’s marriage, fans are also curious about the current lives of the other ‘Soonpoong Trio’ members, Kim Sung-eun (Midal) and Kim Sung-min (Ui-chan).

Kim Sung-min, who played the smart and polite model student ‘Ui-chan’, has stepped away from acting to become a business owner. Appearing on the tvN STORY special ‘Shin Dong-yup’s Who Ordered Coffee? Soonpoong Family’ last October, he revealed, “I have been running a cafe in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do for eight years.” He also made headlines by introducing his wife on the show and sharing that they have been married for five years.

Kim Sung-eun, who enjoyed syndrome-level popularity as the mischievous ‘Midal’, is currently active as an actor and YouTuber, maintaining a strong bond with the ‘Soonpoong’ family. She previously confessed on a broadcast that she cried at Kim Sung-min’s wedding and has continued their 20-year friendship by visiting Kim Sung-min’s Pangyo cafe with senior actress Lee Tae-ran.

Seeing the children who once brought laughter to the entire nation grow into heads of households and adults fulfilling their roles in their own lives brings a deep sense of nostalgia and joy to the public.
