Park Jihoon's 'Crazy' Acting in 'Become a Legend Cooking Soldier' Wins Praise! Is He Really Not Enlisted?

Park Jihoon’s cooking is finally starting to win over the hearts of his fellow soldiers!

In the second episode of the TVING original series ‘Become a Legend Cooking Soldier’ (written by Choi Ryong and directed by Jo Nam-hyung) aired on the 12th, Park Jihoon delivered a powerful performance, deeply portraying the emotions of his character, Kang Seong-jae.

Previously, Kang Seong-jae faced the biggest crisis of his military life when he was dragged away by military police after Lt. Col. Baek Chun-ik (Jung Woong-in) collapsed while eating his sea urchin seaweed soup. However, it turned out to be a shock caused by Lt. Col. Baek’s perilla powder allergy, not poison or a cooking mistake. In a surprising twist, Lt. Col. Baek highly praised the soup, saying he “saw heaven.”

Through a conversation with a counselor, Kang Seong-jae regained his focus by remembering the teachings of his late father. Encouraged, he showed a strong determination to remain a cooking soldier, even after Captain Hwang Seok-ho (Lee Sang-yi) suggested a change in his position.

Kang Seong-jae showed his growth as a cook by using a status window system to eliminate the smell of old rice with vinegar and capturing the taste buds of the unit with a spicy bean sprout soup. Sergeant Yoon Dong-hyun (Lee Hong-nae) also opened his heart to Kang Seong-jae’s sincerity, creating a heartwarming chemistry between the two.

However, Captain Hwang still attempted to change Kang Seong-jae’s position. To persuade him, Kang Seong-jae carefully fried some tonkatsu, but he failed the quest, and the status window system disappeared. Fans are now curious to see if Kang Seong-jae can overcome this crisis and continue his journey as a cooking soldier.

Meanwhile, the TVING original series ‘Become a Legend Cooking Soldier’ starring Park Jihoon airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM on TVING and tvN.
