“Park Seo Joon saves on lodging to splurge on premium buses and sweet and sour pork, jokingly asking, ‘Are we being this luxurious?'”
Thanks to a huge favor from Park Seo Joon’s acquaintance, actors Jung Yu Mi, Park Seo Joon, and Choi Woo Shik were able to turn their budget trip into a bit of a luxury getaway.
In the second episode of tvN’s ‘Youth Over Flowers Limited Edition’ aired on May 10, the trio’s struggle was revealed after they were suddenly “kidnapped” during a live broadcast for an impromptu trip with a strict daily budget of 100,000 won per person.
On the first day, Choi Woo Shik returned to the lodging without buying underwear because the prices were higher than expected. To help him out, Jung Yu Mi used the lodging’s PC to search for budget stores and found one at Dongdaegu Station selling underwear for just 3,000 won, bringing everyone a sense of relief.
After solving the underwear crisis, the group tackled their accommodation. Park Seo Joon mentioned he could borrow a friend’s house in Namwon. During a limited 1 minute and 30 second phone window, he quickly called his friend and confirmed the house was available, though they had to wait until the next day for the address.
Luck was on their side the next day! As a daily benefit, they were allowed to use their personal phones for the day. After confirming the address, they used the money saved on lodging to buy extra underwear and pajamas. They even upgraded their express bus from standard to premium. As the treasurer, Park Seo Joon briefly wondered, “Are we being this luxurious?” before generously approving the upgrade to save time.
Park Seo Joon’s MVP streak continued. Using his search skills, he found a first-time customer discount coupon and booked a rental car in Namwon for just 29,900 won, a 75% discount. He also discovered that registering as a “Namwon Nuri Citizen” grants free entry to Gwanghanruwon, so he made sure Jung Yu Mi, Choi Woo Shik, and even the production staff signed up.
With plenty of savings, they treated themselves to a “luxury” Chinese lunch. After spotting a restaurant while walking in Namwon, they decided to eat there on the spot, ordering Jajangmyeon for everyone plus Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). Park Seo Joon jokingly asked, “Are we being too extravagant?”
Since the filming took place six days before Jeongwol Daeboreum, they enjoyed watching a Jisinbalgi event and spent a great time at Gwanghanruwon before heading to their lodging in the rental car. However, a twist awaited them just when they let their guard down.
In next week’s preview, the trio arrives at Park Seo Joon’s friend’s house. While they initially admired the vintage vibe of the old house, they soon suffered from the freezing cold. Jung Yu Mi noted, “It’s warmer outside,” while Park Seo Joon joked, “Great, I’m going to get hemorrhoids.” With no blankets and no running water, they were seen eyeing the production staff’s modern accommodation with envy. Fans are curious to see if the three can survive the night!
