Entertainer Ahn Sun-young opened up about a touching moment she shared with a flight attendant fan on a plane.
The story of a mother’s real-life struggles raising a daughter during puberty, combined with Ahn Sun-young’s sincere words, resonated deeply with viewers.
On the 14th, a video titled “First Reveal of Forgotten Celebrity Ahn Sun-young’s Canada Home (+Reason for Coming to Toronto)” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Ahn Sun-young’s Double Life’.

Ahn Sun-young recalled, “I was on a plane and a flight attendant recognized me. She told me she was born in 1980 and has a daughter in her second year of middle school.” She added, “She suddenly told me that she gained a lot of strength from watching my YouTube channel.”
Ahn Sun-young was particularly moved by the flight attendant’s honest feelings. “She mentioned that she had a very hard time, to the point of feeling depressed because of her daughter’s ‘middle school second-year syndrome’ [puberty],” she said. “As a mother raising a child in puberty, I could feel how exhausted she must have been.”
She then shared the moment she was asked for an autograph. “Usually, people ask for a signature in their own name, so I was about to write that, but she suddenly asked, ‘Please write it in my daughter’s name instead of mine.'”
Ahn Sun-young recalled, “So I wrote, ‘Yujeong, Mom worries about you twelve times a day.’ When she saw that, she suddenly burst into tears.” She confessed, “I felt choked up in that moment too. In 26 years of broadcasting, it was the first time I felt such a deep connection with someone.”
“I didn’t originally intend to work this hard on YouTube,” she said. “But when people tell me they’ve received comfort or found the strength to endure, I realized that I’m not doing this for nothing.”
Recently, Ahn Sun-young has reduced her broadcasting activities and is living between Canada and Korea. In Canada, she is supporting her son Baro’s hockey studies, and in Korea, she is caring for her mother who suffers from dementia. She shared her thoughts, saying, “My mother and son are areas of my life that I cannot give up or abandon. It’s okay to take a break from broadcasting for a while.”
Meanwhile, Ahn Sun-young continues to communicate with viewers by honestly sharing her life in Canada, parenting, and family stories through her YouTube channel.
