Singer Pyun Seung-yeop is set to share the emotional story of his battle with renal cell carcinoma on “Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night.”
Pyun Seung-yeop will appear on MBN’s “Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night” on the 16th at 9:40 PM to have an in-depth conversation with Kim Ju-ha.
During a recent recording, Pyun spoke about returning to the spotlight after a long hiatus through “Unknown Legend,” stating, “I wanted to show everyone that I am still an active singer.”
He also shared his feelings about challenging himself with a dance performance for the first time in 36 years since his debut on “Unknown Legend.” Known for rarely moving his feet on stage, Pyun took a bold leap for a team battle. He caught attention by admitting, “I went through a lot of emotional stress during the team battle.”
Pyun revealed his battle with renal cell carcinoma, a struggle he couldn’t share even on “Unknown Legend.” He recalled, “I saw black hematuria rather than bright red blood and felt that something was wrong, so I went to the hospital.” Fortunately, he explained that he has since undergone successful surgery and is now recovering.
Regarding the situation at the time, he added, “There was a time when my thyroid wasn’t functioning at all, and I was told I’d have to take medication for the rest of my life, but it has improved a lot now.”
Pyun Seung-yeop debuted in 1991 with his first album “Seoul Dandelion / Streetlight.” Since then, he has remained active, releasing hits such as “Chan Chan Chan,” “The Man Who Wants to be Invited,” “For Love,” and “Forgotten Woman.”
