Singer Pyun Seung-yeup (61) is opening up about the earnings from his massive hit song, ‘Chan Chan Chan’!
Pyun Seung-yeup will be appearing on the 25th episode of MBN’s ‘Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night’, airing on the 16th.
He recalls visiting the star trot composer Lee Ho-seop to debut as a traditional trot singer. Upon hearing Lee Ho-seop play ‘Chan Chan Chan’ on the piano without any lyrics, he instinctively felt, “Ah, this is my song.”
Pyun Seung-yeup also confessed that ‘Chan Chan Chan’ was originally intended for someone else, not him.
He left everyone shocked by revealing his earnings, stating, “In today’s value, I earned over 100 million won a day” during the three years ‘Chan Chan Chan’ held the number one spot on the trot charts.

He recalled that ‘Chan Chan Chan’ didn’t get much of a reaction immediately after its release in 1992, but it went viral a year later. He admitted, “I earned it so easily that I took it for granted.”
The production team shared, “Pyun Seung-yeup is truly a born singer. Please look forward to his witty talk as he returns to the public as the ‘Legend of the Unknown’.”
Additionally, Pyun Seung-yeup will share his feelings regarding his past diagnosis of nephrotic syndrome, as well as his experiences with social anxiety and stage fright. ‘Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night’ featuring Pyun Seung-yeup will air on the 16th at 9:40 PM.
