Rain Reveals JYP Once Wanted Him to Get Plastic Surgery, But a Doctor Stopped Him!

Singer and actor Rain recently shared the surprising behind-the-scenes story of why he debuted without double eyelid surgery.

During the May 13 broadcast of SBS Power FM’s ‘Cultwo Show’, with Hwang Chi-yeul serving as the special DJ, Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) appeared as a guest in the ‘Special Guest’ segment.

When talking about being called the man who looks best with monolids, Rain confessed, “I actually tried to get double eyelids a long time ago. Since my eyes were quite swollen, JYP told me before my debut, ‘Let’s get double eyelid surgery and surgery to pin your ears back.'”

Rain explained, “I went to get the surgery, but the doctor gave me a reality check. He told me, ‘You shouldn’t do this. You have million-dollar ears and million-dollar eyes. If you change your eyes, you’d have to change your chin, nose, and mouth too because the harmony would be ruined.’ It’s not easy for a doctor to say that when they need to make money, and he was very famous at the time,” he shared, explaining why he gave up on the procedure.

Born in 1982, Rain is currently 43 years old. He debuted on May 1, 1998, as a member of the idol group ‘Fanclub’. After catching the eye of Park Jin-young, he trained at JYP Entertainment and began his solo career on April 24, 2002. He later established J Tune Entertainment in 2008 to go independent from Park Jin-young and is currently active under his own agency, Rain Company.
