Japanese actor Sakaguchi Kentaro is heading back to Korea for his movie ‘Final Piece’!
According to the importer NK Contents, Sakaguchi Kentaro is scheduled to visit Korea for two days and one night on May 29 and 30.
This visit comes about eight months after his appearance at last year’s Busan International Film Festival, highlighting his special affection for Korea.
‘Final Piece’ is a suspense drama that unfolds the hidden secrets between ‘Keisuke’ (Sakaguchi Kentaro), a genius shogi player who becomes a suspect after an unidentified body is found with expensive shogi pieces, and ‘TomyĆ’ (Watanabe Ken), a gambler who has disappeared. The film stars Japan’s youth icon Sakaguchi Kentaro alongside the renowned national actor Watanabe Ken.

The film first premiered at last year’s Busan International Film Festival. At the time, Sakaguchi Kentaro and Watanabe Ken stole the spotlight while attending the opening ceremony. Although press conferences and interviews were planned during the festival, the entire schedule was canceled after local media reported a love triangle scandal involving Sakaguchi Kentaro before his arrival.
By choosing to visit Seoul ahead of the domestic release of ‘Final Piece’, Sakaguchi Kentaro is finally making up for the missed opportunities in Busan. During this visit, he plans to greet the media and fans through press conferences and stage greetings.
‘Final Piece’ will be released in Korea on May 27.
