Entertainer Seo Kyung-seok is bringing his witty charm to the screen!
The May 13 episode of MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ will feature a special “Passionate Priests of Teacher’s Day” theme, with Seo Kyung-seok, Choi Tae-sung, Kim Sung-eun, and Hwang Min-ho joining the show.
Seo Kyung-seok will open up about what motivated him to take on the Korean History Proficiency Test after successfully passing the real estate agent exam.
He reveals that he studied by repeatedly listening to lectures by history instructor Choi Tae-sung and explains how he eventually created his own Korean history content by organizing key points in his own way.
His summary videos, which condense concepts right before the exam, became so popular that he earned the nickname “Big Nose Teacher” (Keun-ko-ssaem), following Choi Tae-sung’s “Big Star Teacher” (Keun-byeol-ssaem) moniker.
He also shares a heartwarming story about teaching history to seniors at a welfare center. Seo Kyung-seok mentioned, “When I asked them again shortly after explaining, they had difficulty remembering,” which led him to create and upload lecture videos to YouTube to help with repetitive learning.
Then there is the struggle with his daughter in her rebellious phase. Seo Kyung-seok brought laughter to the set by saying, “These days, if I say one wrong word, it is practically on the level of the Imjin War or the Byeongja Horan.”
To better communicate with his daughter, who is in her second year of middle school, he even started studying idols! He revealed that he became interested in the group ZEROBASEONE, joined their fan club, and even attended their concerts. He will be sharing his experience attending three performances and revealing his favorite member.
Seo Kyung-seok also touches upon his impressive background, including entering the Korea Military Academy at the top of his class, attending Seoul National University’s French Department, and winning the gold prize at the MBC Gag Contest. He will share the story of how a random application to the gag contest during his college years launched his broadcasting career.
