'Sheep in the Box' Drops Main Poster and Trailer!

The film ‘Sheep in the Box’, an official invitee for the Competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, has unveiled its main poster and trailer.

‘Sheep in the Box’ tells the story of a 7-year-old humanoid who enters a home to replace a deceased child. The story explores the joy of finally becoming part of a family and the anxiety of potentially being abandoned once again.

Set to hit Korean theaters on June 10, the main poster features Ayase Haruka as the mother ‘Otone’, Daigo (Chidori) as the father ‘Kensuke’, and Kuwaki Rimu as the son ‘Kakeru’ all in one frame.

Set against a deep green forest with the three characters looking up in the same direction, the caption “7 years old, humanoid, a story of a new family” catches the eye. While the teaser poster focused solely on the humanoid robot ‘Kakeru’, this main poster shows the three family members together for the first time, raising expectations for the new family story told by director Hirokazu Kore-eda.

The accompanying main trailer immediately grabs attention by showing the special story that begins when a being resembling their dead son reappears before a couple who lost their child.

Starting with scenes of peaceful daily life and warm emotions, the video gradually amplifies the strange cracks and tension seeping into the family, creating a deep sense of immersion.

Meanwhile, ‘Sheep in the Box’ will have its world premiere at the 79th Cannes Film Festival Competition, which opens on May 13 (local time), before opening in Korea on June 10.
