Shin Ye-eun attended the production press conference for ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Doctor Som Boy’ on May 26 at 2 PM at The Saint, D-Cube City, Sindorim, Seoul.
Through ‘Doctor Som Boy’, Shin Ye-eun is set to deliver both romance and human drama. She plays nurse Yuk Ha-ri, who returns to her hometown of Pyeondong-do with a secret, portraying a character who hides her inner scars behind a bright and warm energy.
Speaking about Yuk Ha-ri, Shin Ye-eun shared, “She is a character with many charms, being confident at times and fragile at others.” She added, “I think the lovely side of her is most similar to me.” She further explained, “She is a righteous person who is the first to step up when someone is suffering, and in a way, she can be a bit nosy.”
She also revealed her connection with Director Lee Myung-woo. “I met the director during my very first audition at the start of my career. I didn’t pass that audition, but while watching his works, I thought, ‘I definitely want to be in one of his projects someday’,” she said. “After several years, we finally met.” She added, “I enjoyed filming because it’s a work where not only the main actors but every single character feels alive.”

Meanwhile, ‘Doctor Som Boy’ is a medical human romance between public health doctor Do Ji-yi (Lee Jae-wook) and the secretive nurse Yuk Ha-ri on the notorious island of Pyeondong-do, a place everyone avoids. It premieres on June 1 at 10 PM.
