Shocking! Actor Jang Dong-ju Announces Sudden Retirement, Profile Removed from Agency Website

Actor Jang Dong-ju has suddenly announced his retirement, and his profile has already been wiped from his agency’s website.

As of the afternoon of the 15th, Jang Dong-ju’s profile has vanished from the official artist list on the Management W website. While his photo and profile were still up earlier that morning, they were removed following his retirement announcement.

However, previous interview articles and existing content related to Jang Dong-ju remain on the site.

It is reported that this retirement announcement was made without any prior discussion with his agency. The agency is said to be completely bewildered, having learned about the situation through Jang Dong-ju’s own SNS post.

Earlier today, Jang Dong-ju took to SNS to declare his departure from the entertainment industry, writing, “As of today, I intend to lay down my life as actor Jang Dong-ju.”

This isn’t the first time Jang Dong-ju has acted impulsively. Last November, he posted a black screen with only the words “I’m sorry” and became unreachable, prompting his agency to search for him. The situation was resolved after his location was confirmed about four hours later. He then moved to a new agency in December but terminated the contract shortly after.

Additionally, in January of this year, he revealed that he was a victim of phone hacking and blackmail, claiming he had “suffered losses of billions of won and is now buried in debt.”

Although Jang Dong-ju signed an exclusive contract with Management W in February to resume his activities, he has once again suddenly announced his retirement and disappeared.

Jang Dong-ju debuted in 2012 with the play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. He has since appeared in dramas such as ‘School 2017’, ‘Revenge’, ‘Mr. Temporary’, ‘I’ll Be Your Night’, and ‘Trigger’, as well as movies like ‘Honest Candidate’, ‘Count’, and ‘Handsome Guys’. Most recently, he appeared in the SBS drama ‘I’m Human from Today’.
