“Get a Divorce!” Lee Ho-sun’s Brutal Honesty Toward Wife Enabling Gambling Husband on ‘Divorce Meditation Camp’

JTBC ‘이혼숙려캠프’

Lee Ho-sun delivered a sharp wake-up call to an “addicted couple.”

The May 14 episode of JTBC’s ‘Divorce Meditation Camp’ aired the raw and heartbreaking realities of couples on the brink of divorce.

In this episode, the “addicted couple” was featured, highlighting the wife’s hatred, verbal abuse, and the children’s exposure to their parents’ constant fighting. Everyone was left in shock when it was revealed that the wife even told her child to record their fights to use as evidence later.

In previous episodes, it was shown that the husband lived a life of being kicked out of the house. The children, having absorbed their mother’s hatred, showered their father with criticism and belittling remarks.

The episode also revealed the wife’s grievances. The husband had contacted other women through chat apps and fallen deep into gambling. Initially, the wife didn’t realize it was gambling, thinking it was just a simple game. Because of the husband, the combined gambling debt of the husband, wife, and the wife’s family reached a staggering 235 million won.

Adding to the shock, the husband was still asking his wife for money. Although he claimed to have quit gambling, his requests for money raised suspicions. After seeing the husband take 2 million won while demanding more, Seo Jang-hoon reacted, saying, “He’s still gambling.” When the husband claimed it was “just this once,” Seo Jang-hoon snapped back, “Looking at this, it’s just constant excuses and pretexts.”

During psychological counseling, Lee Ho-sun pointed out the children’s emotional instability, noting, “The reason the children suggest alcohol to their mother is so that she won’t get angry.” He added, “This is a case where the mother has destroyed her maternal instinct and the children’s innocence. Look at how the children are being ruined.”

Lee Ho-sun also questioned the wife’s belief that the husband isn’t naturally a gambler and that things would be solved if he just stopped. He asked, “Do you think the husband gambled or not while we were filming?” The wife replied, “I want to believe him.”

Lee Ho-sun shut her down, saying, “Don’t lie. The husband asked for money, right?” He criticized the husband’s lack of will to recover, stating, “If he had the will, would he have lost all his money right before coming here? It makes no sense.”

Ultimately, Lee Ho-sun explained, “Gambling is difficult to overcome even with strong will. But the husband has practically declared that he will continue gambling. He is in a state of severe gambling addiction. There are likely debts the wife doesn’t even know about.” Upon hearing that the husband even wields weapons when money isn’t provided, Lee Ho-sun finally advised, “Get a divorce. Do you think you can fix this man? This household cannot be fixed. How can he quit gambling when the wife keeps giving him money?” He pointed out that the money she lent only fueled the addiction.
