According to legal sources on the 15th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office issued a suspension of indictment on May 14 for Sung Si Kyung’s sister and his agency, SK Jaewon, who had been referred to the prosecution for violating the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act.
SK Jaewon, where Sung Si Kyung’s sister serves as the CEO, was reported to the police last September for failing to register as a popular culture and arts planning business with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Following the report, the police referred the sister and SK Jaewon to the prosecution. However, Sung Si Kyung himself was cleared of charges as investigators found no evidence that he was directly involved in the operation of the agency.
At the time, SK Jaewon explained that they established the corporation in February 2011 and were unaware that registration became mandatory after the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act was enacted in 2014. They further stated that they completed all registration procedures on November 27, 2025.
Meanwhile, Sung Si Kyung, born in 1979, debuted in the music industry in 2000 through the Cyber Song Festival. Since then, he has been widely loved for numerous hit songs such as “On the Street,” “It’s You,” and “Smiling Angel.”
