Harpist and singer-songwriter Shim So-jung is here to break the auditory boundaries of the harp with a stunning new instrumental piece!
Shim So-jung has officially launched her new instrumental series, ‘Harp Dialogue.’ To kick things off, she released the single ‘Velvet Sky’ on the 4th, featuring the incredible fingerstyle guitarist Jung Sung-ha.
The ‘Harp Dialogue’ series is a long-term project designed to preserve the unique charm of the harp while exploring diverse musical textures and vibes through collaborations with various artists. Having already pushed the boundaries of the classical genre with her unique sound, Shim So-jung is now expanding her musical world to blend both mainstream appeal and artistic depth.
Opening the series, ‘Velvet Sky’ reaches new heights of perfection thanks to the help of world-renowned fingerstyle guitarist Jung Sung-ha. The combination of Shim So-jung’s crystal-clear harp melodies and Jung Sung-ha’s signature warm, delicate guitar tones creates a deeply lyrical and dreamy atmosphere. The fluid ensemble between the two instruments offers listeners a multi-dimensional and almost visual soundscape.
Through this series, Shim So-jung plans to go beyond simply releasing instrumental tracks and instead document the process of artists from different genres and sensibilities connecting through the language of music. Her goal is to bring music that offers comfort and emotion naturally into the daily lives of her listeners.
