Coupang Play’s comedy hit “SNL Korea” Season 8 has officially unveiled its host lineup for the second half of the season!
Following a wave of laughter brought by top star hosts like Tak Jae-hoon, Go Ah-sung, Song Ji-hyo, Lee Mi-sook, Shin Sung-rok, and Choo Sung-hoon, Season 8 is keeping the momentum going. Actresses Lee Jung-eun, Jung Soo-jung, and Uhm Ji-won are confirmed as hosts, and they are all ready to completely let go of their polished “actress” images for the sake of comedy.
First up, the legendary actress Lee Jung-eun will take charge of Episode 8, releasing on the 16th. Known as an “original stage genius” who has captivated audiences in plays and musicals, this marks Lee Jung-eun’s very first challenge in a live comedy show since her debut.
Lee Jung-eun shared her excitement, saying, “It’s been a while since I’ve been on a live stage, so I’m thrilled, and I’m grateful for the precious opportunity to be on ‘SNL Korea.’ I want to portray my other side in a sincere and pleasant way. I’ll prepare diligently so that everyone can enjoy the show.”
Passing the baton of laughter from Lee Jung-eun is actress and singer Jung Soo-jung (Krystal). For Jung Soo-jung, who has shown an unlimited acting spectrum, this will also be her first-ever challenge in public comedy.
Jung Soo-jung teased a surprising comedic turn, stating, “I’m nervous about performing comedy live as an ‘SNL Korea’ host, but I plan to show you some fun sides of myself, so please look forward to it.”
Episode 10 will be hosted by actress Uhm Ji-won, the “epitome of elegance.” Having been loved for her graceful and sophisticated image for over 20 years, she is prepared to boldly cast aside that image to secure the laughs.
Uhm Ji-won expressed her ambition, saying, “I’ve always loved the comedy genre in movies and dramas, and I’m a huge fan of ‘SNL Korea.’ I want to give my all and make people laugh, hoping I might even get a new nickname through ‘SNL Korea.'”
Meanwhile, “SNL Korea” Season 8 has proven itself as the “Comedy King of Korea,” dominating popularity charts and view counts since the first episode. Episode 7, featuring host Han Ga-in, will be released on the 9th at 8 PM. It is available for free to both Coupang Wow members and general members.
