Park We, the husband of singer Song Ji-eun and a popular YouTuber, recently looked back on his life 12 years ago before being diagnosed with quadriplegia, sharing his heartfelt dream of backpacking through Europe.
On the 18th, Park We took to social media to mark the anniversary, stating, “Today marks exactly 12 years since I was diagnosed with quadriplegia. Even now, it’s still hard to believe when I think back to that day.”
He candidly shared the pain of that moment, saying, “In an instant, my entire body became immobile, and I couldn’t even feel the warmth of my mother’s hand as she prayed for me. I felt like I had lost everything.”
However, he didn’t let despair win and worked hard to overcome those feelings.
“From that day on, I slowly began to realize that there are still so many things to enjoy even in a life with paralysis,” he explained. “Ten years later, I met the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and got married.”
Describing his marriage to Song Ji-eun as a total “blessing,” he shared his hopes for their future travels.
“I can’t find any word other than ‘blessing’ to describe my married life,” he said. “As the head of a household and as the husband of my beloved Ji-eun, I dream of one day holding her hand and backpacking through Europe on my own two feet.”
Sharing a photo from a 2013 trip to Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the background, he asked fans to “please keep praying so that I can make this dream come true,” and added, “Today, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Ji-eun for always staying by my side and walking this path with me.”
Park We was diagnosed with quadriplegia following a fall, but through consistent rehabilitation, he regained movement in his upper body. He currently runs the YouTube channel ‘Weracle.’ He and Song Ji-eun tied the knot in October 2024.
The couple is also set to join the cast of SBS’s ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny,’ where they will share glimpses of their newlywed life.
