Stray Kids’ Seungmin will unfortunately miss ‘The Governors Ball Music Festival’ due to a stress fracture in his ankle.
On the 21st, JYP Entertainment announced the news of Seungmin’s absence from the US festival via the group’s official SNS.
JYP explained, “Seungmin visited the hospital in March due to pain in his left ankle and received an opinion regarding a possible stress fracture, for which he has been receiving steady treatment.” They added, “Following additional tests, he was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left ankle. He is currently focusing on treatment and recovery while undergoing detailed examinations for related symptoms and similar conditions.”
The agency continued, “While he is resting and avoiding strenuous physical activity in his daily life, we plan to minimize long flights and travel in confined spaces to focus on full recovery and stable treatment, ensuring he gets sufficient rest and continuous monitoring of his progress.”
Consequently, Seungmin will not attend ‘The Governors Ball Music Festival’ held in New York on the 6th of next month (local time). Stray Kids will proceed with the scheduled performance as a 7-member group.
The agency added, “We apologize for causing concern to the fans who were looking forward to this performance with this sudden news. We will prioritize the artist’s health and do our best to ensure he receives more active and professional treatment.”
Meanwhile, ‘The Governors Ball Music Festival,’ taking place from the 5th to the 7th of next month at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York, is a massive annual outdoor music festival. Stray Kids are set to meet global fans as headliners for the performance on the 6th.
