Sunwoo Yong-nyeo Holds Traditional Gosa Ceremony at New Office, Calling it

Actor Sunwoo Yong-nyeo recently visited a new office to perform a Gosa ceremony.

On the 14th, a video titled “First reveal of ‘this’ that 82-year-old Sunwoo Yong-nyeo has always done before becoming successful” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Sunwoo Yong-nyeo’.

While heading to the new office, Sunwoo Yong-nyeo explained, “In the past, I always held Gosa ceremonies when moving or starting a drama. It’s essential to share Sirutteok, as the layers of the rice cake symbolize piling up blessings. This isn’t superstition, it’s our tradition.”

After touring the new office of the YouTube company, she looked at the channels they manage and wished them luck, saying, “They only work with cute people. I hope everyone succeeds!”

Sunwoo Yong-nyeo performed the ceremony with Monk Mokjong, the head priest of Daegwangmyeongsa Temple in Busan. Monk Mokjong explained, “A Gosa ceremony is meant to ensure everything goes smoothly and to remove any obstacles.”

He further explained, “Placing a tablet creates a gateway for the deities or spirits residing around the building. Since we built a house where spirits live, it’s a way to soothe their feelings.”

Netizens reacted warmly, with comments like, “The idea of living in harmony with the forest and animals where the building stands is such a beautiful meaning,” and “I’m a fan of both Jjin-cheonjae (Hong Jin-kyung’s channel) and Yong-nyeo teacher’s channel. Following a blessing ceremony with a Gosa is hilarious! This religious unity is amazing. The blessings will be doubled!”
