BIGBANG member and solo artist Taeyang shared the deep thoughts and reflections that went into his new album.
A listening party for Taeyang’s fourth full-length album ‘QUINTESSENCE’ and its title track ‘LIVE FAST DIE SLOW’ was held on the afternoon of the 18th at the Cube Convention Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
During the event, Taeyang opened up, saying, “This year is a significant one for me as it marks my 20th anniversary since debut. While preparing the album, I put in a lot of effort to find something that is truly me yet still feels new.”
He explained, “Of course, because I’ve done so much over the past 20 years, finding something new is challenging. However, I kept wondering what else I could do, and this album is a result of those thoughts and attempts.”
This marks Taeyang’s first full-length album in nine years. The title of the fourth album, ‘QUINTESSENCE’, refers to the essence or the purest form of something. Reflecting his long-term reflections, Taeyang aims to solidify his distinct musical color while expanding into a deeper and wider world through this release.
The album consists of 10 tracks in total, with Taeyang participating in every single one to bring his unique appeal to the album’s narrative. It will be released on the 18th at 6 PM.
