The 1st iMBC Trot Awards are officially kicking off!

Hosted by iMBC Entertainment and the fan-participation celeb fandom app ‘CelebChamp,’ the 1st iMBC Trot Awards is a specialized trot voting project under the slogan “An awards ceremony noticed by the media and decided by the fans.” Winners in each category will be selected based on fan votes, which will take place from the 13th to the 31st via the CelebChamp app.
The ceremony features a total of six categories: Trot KING, Trot QUEEN, Trot Masterpiece, Best Stage, Next Trot Star, and iMBC Best Cut. Nominees were selected based on article and video views, CelebChamp data rankings, and evaluations by the iMBC press corps.
The ‘Trot KING’ category features some of the top adult male trot singers today. Nominees include Kim Kyung-min, Kim Soo-chan, Kim Jung-yeon, Na Tae-joo, Namgung Jin, Min Soo-hyun, Park Gun, Park Seo-jin, Park Ji-hyun, Seong Ri, Son Tae-jin, Song Min-jun, Shin Seung-tae, Shin Yu, Ahn Sung-hoon, Enoch, Jang Min-ho, Jo Myung-seop, Jin Wook, and Choi Soo-ho.
The ‘Trot QUEEN’ category sees a competition between female trot singers who possess both outstanding vocal skills and public appeal. Nominees include Kang Hye-yeon, Kim Da-na, Kim So-yeon, Kim Ui-young, Doori, Ryu Won-jung, Mai Jin, Song Ga-in, Yang Ji-eun, Yoon Seo-ryung, Yoon Tae-hwa, Eun Ga-eun, Lee So-na, Jeon Yu-jin, Jo Jung-min, Ji Won-yi, Hai Liang, Heo Chan-mi, Hong Ja, and Hong Ji-yoon.
The ‘Trot Masterpiece’ category includes representative trot tracks that have been loved for a long time or created a huge buzz. Nominees include Kim Hee-jae’s “Ttarattarawa,” Son Tae-jin’s “Person Who Gives Happiness,” Song Ga-in’s “Be Ga-in,” Eun Ga-eun’s “Tiki Taka,” Lee Chan-won’s “Sijeol Inyeon,” Lim Young-woong’s “Trust in Me,” Jang Min-ho’s “Good Times,” Jeon Yu-jin’s “Evening Primrose,” Jeong Dong-won’s “Monologue,” Hong Ji-yoon’s “Set Sail,” and Young Tak’s “Jjin-iya.”
The ‘Best Stage’ category features artists with exceptional stage presence, live vocal skills, and performance capabilities. Nominees include Kang Moon-kyung, Ko Jung-woo, Kim Da-hyun, Kim Yong-bin, Kim Jun-su, Kim Tae-yeon, Na Sang-do, Moon Tae-jun, Park Seo-jin, Park Sung-on, Park Ji-hoo, Bin Ye-seo, Yang Ji-won, Lee Dae-hwan, Jung Yeon-ho, Chun Rok-dam, Choi Jae-myung, Chu Hyuk-jin, Ha Dong-geun, Han Ga-rak, Hwanhee, and Hwang Min-woo.
The ‘Next Trot Star’ category includes a large number of next-generation stars and prodigies who will lead the future of the trot world. Nominees include Kang Min-soo, Kim Da-hyun, Kim Tae-yeon, Park Sung-on, Park Ji-hoo, Bin Ye-seo, Oh Yu-jin, Yoon Seo-ryung, Choi Woo-jin, Choi Yoon-ha, Choi Jae-myung, Haru, Hwang Min-ho, and Na Yul.
The ‘iMBC Best Cut’ category focuses on the most talked-about moments of stars within the iMBC photo database. Nominees include Kim Yong-pil, Park Min-soo, Park Hyun-ho, Son Bin-ah, Shin Sung, Young Tak, Lee Chan-won, Jae-ha, Chun Gil (Moses), and Hwanhee.

Various rewards will be provided to the winners and top-ranking artists. Large-scale promotional benefits, such as the production of special feature articles and videos by iMBC Entertainment, as well as banner advertisements on the iMBC Entertainment website and the CelebChamp app, are planned.
Regarding the event, the iMBC Trot Awards side stated, “This is an opportunity to gift glory to my singer,” adding, “It will be a new kind of awards ceremony created together with trot fans.”
